Volumized hair using a Hair Straightener

I am asked about my hair on how it looks so volumized all the time. I will have to say because I am born with thick hair. Don't be discouraged, just because I have thick hair doesn't mean my hair doesn't become flat. So there are many ways to acheive bigger hair, this includes:

  • Using a volumizing shampoo that won't weigh your hair down
  • Hairspray (I usually throw my head upside down and mist my hair)
  • Blow drying (hot air styling)
  • Teasing: something I always try to avoid because I cringe at the thought of it ><

I mentioned before I like to straighten my hair upside down for boost but I got messages from the shorter hair girls that stated it made their hair spike upwards and if there is another way to create volume and body. So good news is; Yes! Yes there is indeedy.

Lol, I'm so sorry my face is pulled like that. This is a screenshot of the video and I happen to look like a duck. My eyes are actually so irritated from hayfever so I didn't look/feel the best today. Sniffles...

The Technique

This is simple, you are simply using your straighteners as a styler and you are curving the hot tool and sculpting your hair. I like to section my hair into 3 sections: Upper, Middle and Lower. The Upper Section is left last and it is most important and the section that I spend most time with. I'll let you guys go on to the tutorial. Hope you guys enjoy this quick one! ^_~

Much love, Bubz xx
