Tight Sassy Curls / Japanese Inspired Thick Braids Tutorial

Tight Sassy Curls Tutorial:

Hi everyone! I've been pretty busy lately but I did promise you guys that the Tight Curls tutorial will be up shortly and here it is ^_^ ! Lately, I have been wearing my curls nice and tight. It looks fun, sassy and perfect for Spring. So I have ditched loose curls for this fun look. I really do love it and its so easy. It takes about 15 minutes because you are grabbing random sections of hair. It is suitable for all lengths of hair because it doesnt take away much of the length. Be spontaneous and messy for best results.

Sassy & Sweet

Simple & Easy

I used:

I used Nicky Clarke Frizz Control 18mm Tongs. They cost only £14.69 from Argos (www.argos.co.uk), I highly recommend these tongs because they are so affordable with quick results but feel free is use your thin curling tong of your choice. This tong will certainly become part of my 'favourite hair styling tools'.

Tips to creating this hairstyle:

  • Don't Overuse hair styling products. I only used a little clay. You don't want your hair to become heavy. It should look nice and full of Life
  • Be Spontaneous
  • Be Messy
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with tighter curls
  • Most of all, be Creative with styling. You are your own artist/creator. There are no rules. You make the decisions of how you want your hair to sit

Good luck with the sassy curls guys ^_^ x

Japanese Inspired Volumised Braids :

Right after this tutorial, I went on to create another Bubscriber Request, Japanese Inspired Loose Volumised Braids. I loved this idea and this hairstyle is very sweet & adorable. It looks best with curls (Tight, Medium, Large, Loose etc). Of course, if your hair is thick , BINGO! It would work nicest. But if your hair is thin; boost the volume by blow drying your hair upside down and use volumising mousse. The curls should pump up the volume in your hair anyway. Don't worry if you have alot of layers in your hair. The messier the better. We don't want perfect looking braids. We want a spontaneous finish. Quick & Easy hair.

Tips to creating this hairstyle:

  • Tug your plaits and make them nice and fat. This will give a false fat braid effect
  • Just like the sassy curls tutorial, be messy. The messier the better! Don't be neat
  • Use clay to help your hair smooth out rough areas if needed

Happy Braiding everyone. Hope you guys enjoy these 2 Hair tutorials. Speak soon!
Much love, Bubbi xx
