My Travel Beauty Bag
- Tuesday, 23 October 2012
Tim and I are off to South Korea tomorrow for 5-6 days for our pre-wedding photo shoot. I just spent the past hour plucking my brows, shaving my legs and giving myself a facial massage. I'm mostly packed up now and I figured I'll share my travel makeup and beauty bag with you all.
Just a handy tip when packing your makeup bag, pack your items pretending you're about to apply your makeup. For example, the very first thing I use when I apply my makeup is concealer so it would be the first item I pack into my makeup bag. Then foundation, then setting powder, brow pencil and so on. This prevents me leaving anything out. In my makeup bag, I've packed all the products needed to apply my everyday makeup.
I've highlighted the face makeup in yellow, eye makeup in blue and lip makeup in pink for you all. All of these makeup products are my staple products too.
Foundation: The YSL Touche Eclat Foundation is my absolute favourite foundation right now. It can actually transform a dull tired complexion to a radiant and healthy complexion. Some of you mentioned that since my engagement, I look extra glowy. Guess what? It's just the foundation lol.
Powder: I am a huge fan of the Chanel Vitalumiere EClat powder. It sets my foundation in the most natural and beautiful way.
Blush: The NARS Gina blush has been my everyday blush for a while now. It's a beautiful tangerine shade that gives the cheeks an incredible glow. A little goes a long way. My favourite blush out of the entire NARS blush range. I can't get over how cute this blush is. Seriously, try it next time you pass by a NARS counter. It's GORGEOUS!
Concealer: The Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda concealer allows me to mix the shades for the perfect colour. It can be used for dark circles and also imperfections.
Eyeshadow base: The Shu Uemura cream shadow in P-Pink is my favourite eyeshadow base. It looks gorgeous on it's own and makes eyeshadows look fantastic whilst keeping it long lasting. Even if I don't want to wear eyeshadow, this will look pretty on the eyelids alone.
Eyeshadows: I never hit pan on my eyeshadow quads with the exception of this one. This is my second Koji Dolly Wink eyeshadow quad (01). The eyeshadows are super pigmented and buttery. It is the perfect everyday eyeshadow quad for sure.
Brown Pencil Eyeliner: I like to apply the Banila & Co Style Eyeliner pencil (brown) on my lower lash line. I would then smudge it out for a smokey everyday look. This pencil liner does not smudge at all. I picked this up when I was in S.Korea and I was kicking myself for not stocking up the brown one. I am going to STOCK up this time baby! Nothing glides on as pigmented as this pencil liner. It's super long lasting too.
Black liquid liner: Had to pack my Dolly Wink liquid liner (Black). Eyeliner is my best friend because it makes all the difference to my eyes. It's very pigmented, long lasting and gives fantastic precision. My favourite liquid liner for sure.
Light Pink Shimmer Shadow: I use this in a lot of my videos but it doesn't have a readable name (sorry guys but I did pick this up in SASA if it helps). But I SWEAR by this baby. It's the perfect shimmer shadow to highlight the eyes. It's a light cool pink but it's not overly pink. It's perfect.
Mascara: The ZA Impact Lash mascara (long) is my absolute favourite mascara. I had no idea how much I loved it until I decided to try out other mascaras such as Lancome Hypnose, Dolly Hypnose, YSL, Dior, etc. This mascara just works best with my lashes. It doesn't make my lashes look clumpy and actually adds length to my short stubby asian lashes.
Eyelash Curler: I love my KOJI eyelash curler. Nuff said.
Lip stick 1: The Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick (Rose boudoir 360B) is my current everyday lippie. I love the vibrant orangey pink shade because it brightens up my complexion beautifully. This lipstick makes me feel very girly too.
Lipstick 2: The L'Oreal Colour Riche lipstick in Sheer Papaya is super moisturising and makes my lips look naturally pigmented and hydrated.
Lip balm: I've always loved the Vaseline intensive care lip essences. Lipsticks tend to make my lips peel so prepping it with lip balm helps a lot.
For easy packing, I de-panned my blush, eyeshadows and concealer into my UNII palette. This allows me to have all my key products in one case. The big mirror will make makeup application handy too.
For brushes wise, I just packed my beauty blender to blend out my concealer and foundation. Since it's supposed to be used damp, I can wash it before using it making it very hygienic. I also packed my Dome brush for applying setting powder and blush (and also contouring). For eyes, I'm bringing a smudger brush (can also be used as a shader brush) and a eye sculpter brush (great for applying eyeshadow and also blending). Yep, these 3 brushes are from my new Bubbi brushes. Incase you're wondering, they won't be blue. These are just some sample brushes.
And below are the skincare products I'm bringing with me. YEY for samples. I get really excited when I finally get to use my sample sized goodies.
Sheet masks: I know I can get lots of sheet masks in S.Korea but it's handy to bring some of my own anyways. Brightening sheet masks will prep up my skin before the photoshoot. Moisturised face is the best base for makeup remember?
Cotton pads: To remove my makeup and apply toner of course
Cleanser: I love the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic cleanser. It makes my skin feel super clean and soft. Need to stock up more when I'm there.
Makeup remover, Toner, Emulsion and Face serum: All sample sized Lancome skin products. I save up all my samples for traveling. I LOVE the Visionnaire skincare range by the way. The serum, moisturiser and emulsion is GREAT.
Eye serum: I'm trying out the YSL Forever Youth Liberator Eye serum right now. It's pretty expensive but I'm happy to say I'm liking it so far. Makes my eye area feel plumper and hydrated. It's supposed to be good for dark circles too.
Eye cream: I'm almost done with my Lancome Genifique Eye cream. I've gone through 2 jars already. I like the eyecream because it's super hydrating and minimises fine lines but it runs out so quick and it's expensive >.< Does anybody know any good yet affordable eye creams?
Spot treatment: I always bring a spot treatment serum with me to treat and prevent lurkers.
That's all folks!
It's already 1:33AM. Gonna get some sleep now. Thank you so much for reading everyone.
Much love, Bubz xx
